Lambda-Lambda Chapter's "Fisher House Foundation" Campaign Supports Military Families
This spring, Lambda-Lambda Chapter is participating in a campaign in support of the Fisher House Foundation, a program sanctioned by Kappa Sigma's national office.
A 'Fisher House' affords our wounded veterans a comfortable environment in which to recover. Often, these soldiers are stationed far from family members. This organization provides a way for our service men and women to recover in a far more comfortable situation than a traditional military hospital environment.
Our chapter has tasked itself to raise $2,000 for the foundation. To reach this objective, our men are conducting a campus drive in which students donate cash (or meal plan equivalents that later will be exchanged for cash by Elon University).
Aside from the worthy effort to support our military families, should the chapter achieve its goal, it will help Lambda-Lambda Chapter qualify for a prestigious Founders’ Award of Chapter Excellence award from our fraternity's national office. (Note: Once entitled the 'Top Ten Award' presented to honor overall chapter proficiency, the FACE award today exists as the benchmark honor in Kappa Sigma.)
