Highlights
Kappa Sigma Undergraduate Accomplishments of 2008-2009
Fall Semester
- Cosponsored Zeta Tau Alpha’s Think Pink! Campaign and hosted the Yoplait yogurt-eating contest which worked to raise money for breast cancer awareness.
- Initiated Brothers Hunter Perry #697 and Tripp Revson #698 to bring total membership to 59 brothers.
- Sponsored an evening at West End Station and raised over $300 for the Mitoaction Walk, an event that raised money and awareness for mitochondrial disease.
- Applied and qualified for Action Chapter Certification meeting 13 of 16 criteria while only 10 was required.
- Won Sigma Play Day hosted by Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority
- Logged over 400 community service hours through participation in various philanthropy events.
- Sponsored Roadside Pick-up on Chapel Hill Road in Burlington, NC
- First Place in the Alpha Chi Omega Chili Cook-off and the Alpha Xi Delta Invisible Children Relay
- Celebrated Lambda-Lambda’s 35th Anniversary during Homecoming
Winter/Spring Semester
- Successfully completed the Housing Review process receiving the highest marks on each category
- Sponsored Elon Men’s Basketball vs. Western Carolina and Elon Baseball vs. East Carolina
- Attended and participated in the Carolina Leadership Conclave
- Added a pool table to the chapter house
- Conducted a 24-hour Seesaw-a-thon which raised $1500 for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation
- Volunteered for 100 hours of Elon’s Safe Rides program
- 19 New Members accepted bids out of a possible 22 bids, reaching over the 700 Lambda-Lambda member mark
- Each Brother and New Members participated for 8 hours in Elonthon which is a 24-hour philanthropy event that helps raise money for the children of Duke Children’s Hospital and Health Center
- Host the 3rd Annual Beachball Softball Philanthropy event, raising money for the Fallen Soldiers Campaign
- Spring Banquet in Myrtle Beach
